Our Mission
is to be a positive influence in our community. We aim to provide a welcoming space to understand our clients’ stories and strengths. Together, we’ll find the right words to describe their unique minds, identities, and perspectives on the world.
Core Values
Communication: We communicate with compassion and in a collaborative way. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
Sincere Service: We operate with integrity and with clear boundaries. We take our job seriously, and we are timely and responsive.
Community Advocacy: We provide service and education to our community. That means we also must be aware of the community we operate in and serve. We strive to learn about how systems of oppression operate. We work to identify personal biases and privilege so that we can foster safe spaces for growth and learning.
Balance: We can only be our best selves when we are adequately inspired and have space for rest. We strive for work-life balance so that we can show up for our work together.
What is Neuroaffirming Care at NSNP?
At NSNP, neuroaffirming care means that we do not view neurodivergent identities as deficits to be cured, but rather as natural variations to be supported and celebrated! We work hard to understand different neurotypes and the unique challenges faced by folks of many neurodivergent backgrounds—including autism, ADHD, and learning differences—as well as those with acquired injuries, such as a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Many individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression also find our collaborative approach deeply supportive. In practice, this means:
We validate your lived experience: Whether you are navigating a neurodevelopmental condition, healing from trauma, or adapting to life after a brain injury, we listen to you as the expert on your own mind and body.
We focus on accommodation, not “fixing”: We don’t try to force your brain to fit a neurotypical standard. Instead, we help you understand your current cognitive and emotional profile, build on your natural strengths, and find practical accommodations to make daily life easier.
Our Therapeutic Approach: We do not specialize in highly structured, protocol-driven modalities like EMDR or DBT. Instead, our clinicians draw from rich, relational theories such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and relational modalities. We do not assign rigid homework or follow strict manuals; instead, we work collaboratively and organically. You are always welcome to discuss your clinician’s specific lens during your sessions.
