Next Steps Neuropsychology is community-focused private practice in Oakland, California. We specialize in working with gender diverse and neurodiverse folks in their early career. We offer comprehensive, collaborative assessment and therapy services.
Neuropsychological Assessment
We have specialty training in the brain-behavior science. The assessment process typically involves a clinical interview, talking with friends or family, reviewing relevant records and finally through cognitive testing. We use a series of tasks to assess a variety of thinking skills. We pull the information into a report that we discuss with you at feedback. We aim to provide information that is understandable with a focus on answers to your questions and not simply providing a diagnosis.
Psychotherapy
We all have a range of skills and deficits. As therapists, we are adept providing treatment for people with attention problems, and history of brain injury. Through our work you will learn about your strengths and how to best use those skills to manage your weaknesses. Through support and a little trial-and-error you will find ways to manage your daily life with more confidence and satisfaction.
Consultation
Next Steps Neuropsychology provides clinical consultation for family members and clinicians new to working with brain injuries, neurological concerns, and issues that inhibit effective communication.
